Children in Uganda learn English in school, but have little access to books. In 2009, Partnership Uganda launched a children's library in Bulumagi. During our 2011 visit, we helped the community to renovate a building that became home to the Bulumagi Community Library and Study Centre. The library remains a hub of activity among children in the village as they as they gather to read, paint, and study after school. The library's collection has grown to over 1000 volumes with a growing number of textbooks and novels for older readers as well as storybooks for children. In 2013 we added a student microscope for the high school students and magnifying glasses for the younger children. In 2015 we brought more books, maps, art supplies, and Scrabble.
Please donate to help the number of books in the library grow!
